BAA welcomes a Class Representative or Class Captain for every graduating class and era of Ballou. Representatives strengthen communication among classmates and help their class engage with the official alumni association and the school.

Class Council Structure
BAA's adopted governance framework provides for a Class Council Chairperson, appointed annually by the Association President subject to Board approval. The Chairperson serves as a nonvoting, ex-officio advisor to the Board of Directors. Class Representatives and Captains work through the BAA Class Council and designated Board coordination; being a class representative does not itself confer a director's seat or a Board vote.

What Class Representatives Do
• Welcome classmates and encourage free BAA membership registration.
• Share verified BAA news, activities, volunteer opportunities and school announcements.
• Assist with class-year reunions, all-class activities, Homecoming, alumni gatherings, and class celebrations.
• Coordinate with BAA committees before presenting an event as BAA-sponsored or collecting funds in its name.
• Encourage classmates to participate in mentoring, Career Day, scholarships, athletics, band, choir, and community service.
• Help identify alumni achievements, historical photographs, yearbooks, and memories for the official BAA history initiative.
• Refer alumni records or personal information to approved BAA registration processes rather than circulating private lists.
• Help identify a successor and transfer class records appropriately when stepping down.

BAA will also seek alumni liaisons for school sports, clubs, music and arts organizations, and other activities. These support roles complement Class Representatives without replacing the bylaws' Class Council leadership.

Who Can Volunteer?
Eligible graduates and former students who are registered BAA members may express interest. BAA membership is free. A class contact or Facebook group administrator is not automatically an authorized BAA spokesperson; formal representative assignments follow BAA procedures.
